What are hiccups and how do they arise?

Hug your knees – When you sit down in a comfortable position, bring your knee to your chest. Hug your knees and hold the position for a few minutes.
Squeeze your palms – Open your palm wide, then apply pressure on the palm with the thumb of your other hand until necessary.
Suck on an ice cube – Suck on an ice cube for a few minutes and swallow it after it gets smaller.
Eat a spoonful of peanut butter – Take a spoonful of peanut butter and slowly let it melt in your mouth.
Drink ice water – Another most common way to stop hiccups is by drinking a glass of ice cold water.
