DALLAS, September 14, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Human resources and development challenges have been shown to have a direct impact on outcomes for patients who are cared for at home. According to a new survey by Axxess, the leading home care technology innovator, and Home Health Care News, the leading daily news publication for the home care industry, the bottlenecks have also affected companies providing patient care.

Personnel and workforce issues were recently dealt with slower than expected growth in job creation in August, largely due to concerns about the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus. The survey identified three strategies that home care organizations are using to help address the deficiency:

  • Increased remuneration and benefits
  • Sign up bonuses
  • Flexible staffing or job sharing

“Home care organizations want to provide the best quality to patients, but finding staff willing to care for these patients has been an ongoing challenge,” said Axxess Founder and CEO John Olajide. “Axxess is constantly developing new technology to help these organizations address their staff shortages and ensure exceptional care. Organizations that are ready to use technology like Axxess CARE thrive because they can optimize their workforce and care for patients in need. “

Education and training of staff was also a major priority for home care facilities, with 77% of participants agreeing that their organization could benefit from training and development programs. 24 percent of respondents explicitly stated that their company uses career and professional development as a tactic to keep employees in a competitive job market.

The data comes a few weeks after the public launch of the Axxess certification program, which aims to establish a standard for knowledge and competency in the home health, home care and hospice industries.

the Axxess certification program uses the know-how in care at home together with Axxess solution training to train and develop managers and employees at all levels. Participants can earn certifications from basic to expert levels in clinical, operational, and financial areas.

Axxess CARE is a planning and HR platform that has already helped nurses and therapists conduct more than 62,000 home visits nationwide, allowing organizations to work with more clinicians to accept referrals and expand into new markets.

The “Home Health and Home Care Employee Survey 2021“Report was in the months of July and August 2021, and features insights from 753 respondents from businesses of all sizes in the home nursing, home care, and hospice sectors. The report is now available for download.

Axxess CARE and the Axxess Certification Program are available to customers who use Axxess software to manage their business operations and provide the highest quality patient care.
