While the vaccination campaign begins today for the public, it will be some time before everyone is vaccinated. Although fever, cough, and fatigue are still the most common symptoms associated with coronavirus infections, there are a few things people can do at home to help boost their immune systems and recover quickly.
While people with serious complications must be kept under expert supervision, others with mild symptoms can be treated in quarantine at home with a few simple tools along with medication.
Dr. Rekha Radhamony, an Ayurveda expert, used her social media account to share the Ayurveda protocol for treating mild COVID symptoms. Here’s what she all suggests.
Hydration
Dr. Rekha suggests having warm water with dry ginger and tulsi leaves. To make this preparation easier, boil some water with a piece of dry ginger until it is reduced to half its amount. Add some tulsi leaves and drink them several times a day.
eat
Have freshly cooked and hot meals. Make sure to use congee or moong dal soup with no salt or oil for lunch and dinner. Don’t overeat, leave your stomach half empty after each meal. Make sure you have dinner before 7pm.
Spices
We all know that Indian spices have the power to heal. So add spices like cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, star anise, and cloves to your meals. Also add dried turmeric and dried ginger.
sleep
Get 8 hours of sleep every night. Our immunity is restored and replenished when we sleep. Try not to sleep during the day.
fruit
When you are asymptomatic, you have fruits like pomegranate and grapes. If you have symptoms, skip the fruits entirely.
vegetables
If you have well-cooked vegetables, you don’t have raw vegetables or salads. Be sure to eat bitter vegetables like bitter gourd, ash gourd, etc. Reduce your intake of eggplants, tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers.
Relax
Talk to people, read a book, listen to soothing music, and do something to help you feel relaxed and healthy. Make meditation a part of your daily routine.
Avoid smoking and alcohol.
exercise
If you have symptoms and feel tired or tired, do not do any physical activity. Just practice pranayama for 30 minutes.
Herbs
Dr. Rekha strongly recommends taking Guduchi – 1000 mg tablet per day.
If you have a cough, take a tablespoon of honey with black pepper powder three to four times a day.
If you have throat irritation, chew on Vyoshadi Vatakam several times a day.
For sore throats and constipation, gargle hot water and add pink salt and dried turmeric powder.
Herbal Cooking
If you are constipated, have this herbal boil twice a day before you eat:
Boil two glasses of water and add two tablespoons of Trikatu Churna (mixture of dried ginger powder, pepper powder and long pepper powder in a ratio of 1: 1: 1). Cook the mixture until the amount is reduced by half. Add tulsi leaves and palm jaggery.
