The nutrition plan based on the Mayr method was developed by Dr. Franz Xaver Mayr, who believed that everything is related to the gut and that what we eat or not eat can affect our overall health and well-being, including weight.

“But we waste so much time looking for the next exciting thing or magic bullet when the nature of weight loss and sustainable management is actually quite simple.”

The diet also has many rules associated with it.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, nutritionist Jenna Hope, explained: “The Mayr-Method is a restrictive diet with many dietary rules, B. Eating within a limited period of time, avoiding snacks, gluten and dairy products as well as avoiding raw vegetables after 4 p.m. and many other dietary rules.

“The method was developed to cleanse and detoxify the body. However, the key role of the liver and kidneys is to remove unwanted toxins from the body.

To lose weight, you need to eat in a calorie deficit, which means that you need to consume fewer calories than the body burns.

There are many tools you can use to find out your calorie deficit online. This can be combined with exercise for sustained, healthy weight loss.

Jenna continued, “Stress, sleep, and other lifestyle factors can also play a role in weight loss.

“In addition, the diet promotes more mindful eating, which has a positive effect on appetite regulation, intestinal health and the absorption of micronutrients.”

Major dieting habits include eating slowly, drinking between meals, eating a large breakfast, and having a smaller lunch to encourage mindful eating.

However, the nutritionist stated that “you don’t have to follow the Mayr method to eat mindfully”.

Jenna added, “The diet is extremely unsustainable and, due to the extreme and unnecessary rules, promotes an unhealthy relationship with food. As a result, this diet is not recommended to support long-term sustainable weight loss or long-term health.

“This diet is usually followed in conjunction with an exercise regimen that can also aid in weight loss.”
