According to the diet, you can lose up to 4.5 kg in a week. And unlike many other diets, it’s known to be economical because it doesn’t require expensive supplements and foods. As the name suggests, the diet plan was reportedly designed by nutritionists to help soldiers achieve proper weight and shape as quickly as possible. It’s also called the Army Diet, Navy Diet, and even the Ice Cream Diet.
Here’s what it’s made of
One must follow a 3-day meal plan followed by 4 days off. During the three days it is recommended to eat healthily but consume fewer calories. This weekly cycle is repeated for several weeks until the ideal target weight is reached.
The food combinations are such that they help burn fat and boost the metabolism that aids in weight loss. On the four days off, a normal diet of 1300-1500 calories per day, consisting of lean protein and vegetables, is recommended. This is low in carbohydrates.
What can you drink
While water can be used as much as possible, artificial sweeteners should be avoided. One can also have herbal teas with stevia as a sweetener.
The following consists of a sample menu:
day 1
Breakfast – ½ grapefruit, 1 slice of toast, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and a cup of tea / coffee
Lunch – ½ cup of tuna, 1 slice of toast and a cup of tea or coffee
Dinner – 2 slices of meat of each type, 1 cup of green beans, ½ banana, 1 small one Appleand 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
day 2
Breakfast – 1 egg, 1 slice of toast, ½ a banana
Lunch – 1 cup of cottage cheese / 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 1 hard-boiled egg, 5 salt crackers
Dinner – 2 hot dogs, 1 cup broccoli, ½ cup carrots, ½ banana and ½ cup vanilla ice cream
Day 3
Breakfast – 5 lemonade crackers, 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 1 small apple
Lunch – 1 hard-boiled egg, 1 slice of toast
Dinner – 1 cup of tuna, ½ banana, 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
Do not consume snacks in between.

Vegetarians and vegan can easily be swapped for nuts, lentils, tofu and soy / tofu dogs. Vegans can eat nut / tofu cheese instead of cheddar, as well as soy ice cream and vegan cottage cheese, according to WebMD.

What are the chances?
The diet is based on the principle of creating a calorie deficit that will help you lose weight faster. There aren’t many dietary restrictions that make it easier to follow for a short period of time.
