Arjun Kapoor’s fitness trip is one for the books, and the Bollywood actor lost over 50 kg to get the fit version we’re used to on the big screen. The 36-year-old recently took to Instagram to recount how his fitness journey began and that the teachings of his late mother Mona Kapoor helped him focus on his fitness.

Prior to making his Bollywood debut with Ishaqzaade in 2012, Arjun was overweight and after a lot of hard work and dedication, has reached the level of fitness he has today. Speaking of his trip, Arjun shared a collage of before and after pictures of himself and in the caption he wrote, “Pehle main bohot mota bohot pareshan tha … No, no, this is not one of those posts … out there that I love every chapter of my life. Then and now I was myself every step of the way. I value every piece. I am a work in progress like any other. My mom told me every stage of your life is a journey and you will always be a constant progression. I understand the meaning of it now more than ever, and I love that I am working to improve myself … every fucking day. “

Arjun weighed 140 kg and had previously told in an interview how he had just accepted that he would convince himself to be happy the way he was and said: “Being fat was part of my life. Actually, I never wanted to lose weight, satisfied with what I was. But I knew that I was lying to myself, that I was happy to be like this. “

He also paid tribute to Salman Khan for helping him lose the weight, saying how Salman told him that if he lost weight he could become an actor. He shared, “I traveled with Salman Khan. We trained together and he was very careful about what I ate. This man knows no pain. He made me become a machine that doesn’t do anything but lose weight. His devotion, his discipline in life have shaped me, and whatever I am today, I’m only like that because of him. “

Meanwhile, Arjun is seen on the work front sharing screen space with Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandes in Bhoot Police.
