Newswise – CHICAGO – Developing healthy eating habits is not a one-size-fits-all solution. The key is to tailor your favorite foods to meet your individual nutritional needs.
In March, the academy focuses on healthy eating through National Nutrition Month®. This year’s “Personalize Your Plate” theme encourages the preparation of nutritious meals to suit individual cultural and personal food preferences.
“America is a cultural melting pot, so you can’t expect all foods to look the same,” said registered nutritionist Su-Nui Escobar, a national spokesman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Miami, Florida should be a joyful experience. As supermarkets increasingly diversify their shelves to meet the needs of their customers, it is becoming increasingly easy to create nutritious meals that cater to a variety of cultural preferences. ”
During National Nutrition Month®, the Academy encourages everyone to make informed decisions and develop healthy eating and exercise habits that they can follow year round. The academy recommends seeking advice from registered nutritionists – the food and nutrition experts who can help develop customized diet and activity plans to help meet people’s health goals.
“Variety is the spice of life and this is how people should see their meals,” said Escobar. Season your menus with the foods and flavors you enjoy and add new flavors to add excitement in your kitchen. “Developing healthy eating habits doesn’t require drastic lifestyle changes. A registered nutritionist can help you incorporate the foods you enjoy into your life. ”
Registered nutritionists help clients fine-tune traditional recipes, offer alternative cooking methods, and other healthy advice for including family foods in daily meals. To find a registered dietitian near you, use the academy’s online website Find an Expert Service.
