A Texas home care company plans to close its San Antonio office and lay off 366 employees on October 1st.

The Texas Workforce Commission received notification this week that Interim Healthcare is closing its office at 6800 Park Ten Blvd., Suite 270.

In a letter to the TWC on Monday, the company’s vice president of human resources wrote that “ongoing financial losses” had prompted the closure and that affected employees would be informed of the layoffs.

In an email on Thursday, the company said it will phase out two San Antonio-based programs: Texas Medicaid community-based alternatives and primary home care. Both programs include unskilled and non-technical personal care services to help clients carry out day-to-day activities.

According to the company website, has more than 300 locations across the United States employing nurses, therapists, aides, attendants, and other healthcare professionals.

The office in San Antonio looked after customers in Bexar and 21 surrounding counties.

Interim Healthcare said it will ensure affected clients are properly routed to other agencies in the area.

“We are committed to staying open until all patients have been properly transferred and we are also looking after our affected staff to ensure they are reinstated with the local agencies,” the statement said.
